Plumbing Contractors in Orlando? Plumbing Company in Orlando Florida? I am looking for Plumbing Contractors in Orlando Florida. Can anyone recommend a good plumbing company that is affordable and reliable. The last plumbing job I had was terrible - so I want to make sure this one is good. I would prefer if I was given a phone number so I can speak directly to the plumbing company - but company name and website would work as well. Thanks, Bobby
How do I go about in getting a plumbing contractor's estimate?2 contractors couldn't give one.Suggestions? I have a small 2 story home. When the upstairs shower is turned on, there is a leak through the ceiling of the living room on the first floor. What will probably be needed is for a hole to be placed through the ceiling and the leak located. The plumbing contractors have said that they cannot give an estimate til they see what the problem is. I don't feel comfortable giving them "carte blanche" to do work and then send me a bill. Any suggestions on getting an estimate? Thanks. Ok enough of the doctor analogies. OTOH, I have insurance to pay most of the doctor and hospital bills. I just take care of a set fee (annual deductible). The plumber's bills have to paid with after tax money and in cash.
Does anyone know how to sell out a plumbing contractor license? I was curious on if anyone knew how to offer your plumbing contractor license to a company that needs one, either in florida or another state, to qualify their company. I am licensed in Florida and was wanting to sell out my license. Anyone have any suggestions?
If the Culligan man was in your house and recommended plumbing and heating repairs, would you take the advice? We are in the process of partnering with Culligan Water Products. We have been in business for 23 years as a plumbing and heating contractor. As the franchise works out we would have to use seperate trucks but the same employees. My question is if a Culligan man was in your home and he knew what he was talking about in reference to heating service work that needed to be peformed on your home heating system would you take his advice? Or would you blow it off because after all he is wearing a Culligan shirt? We are a licensed, bonded, and insured plumbing and heating contractor. We have 7, 2 card carrying journeymen plumbing and heating technicians.

Marketing my interior design business to Contractors? I am an Interior Designer who would like to specialize in helping contractors design new homes (presold or spec). I currently work for a design center that offers cabinets, carpet, tile, hardood & slab countertops. I feel that I could be a single source for a contractor to go to for design help (since a lot of them don't want to deal with this end of it). I could also select paint colors, appliances, lighting & plumbing fixtures. I would love any ideas on how to market contractors!
Why so many No-show Home Improvement contractors? Over the years, I have had several Home improvement contractors show up to take measurements for floors, windows, plumbing, etc, but then they never follow through and send an estimate. Why do you think that is happening? I have money to spend and tried to track themn down for their quote but they gve me the runaround.
What to look for in contractors who repair major water damage? Bathroom sink pipe sprung a major leak, 15 minutes worth of tap water soaked hardwood flooring, plaster walls and ceilings and ran into some duct work...also we are concerned about the electrical wiring behind ceiling and walls, what are some good characteristics to look for in hiring a contractor who specializes in this type of work? Also, is it typical for the homeowner's insurance to cover the plumbing work? So far, the adjuster says only work to repair damage is covered but not the plumbing that caused the problem...sound right?
Plumbing rates / fees? Does anyone know of a book or list of fees charge by plumbing contractors? You know, a flat fee to change / replace an old toilet with a new one?
Advice for finding someone to repair a plumbing problem? We have recently noticed water coming up between linoleum sections in the hall bathroom, and we're thinking that the pipes under the toilet or under the bathtub are old and leaking. (it's an older house, built in the 50's). I have also cleaned a bit of mold from around the baseboard, so I think that the leak may have been present for a while. I'm not really sure how bad it is. The water leak needs to be repaired pretty soon so that we don't experience more mold growth or other structural damage. What type of professional should we call - a plumber or a general contractor? We don't need to re-do the entire bathroom - just repair the water leak. (although it would be nice to replace the floor, too!) This is our first house, and our first maintenance problem that we don't know how to fix on our own. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
What kind of contractor to repair fungus on subfloor? I was told I have water damage to the subfloor under my toilet. I assume that means pipes and/or toilet fixtures that are leaking, which once located will need repairing, plus replacing the wood subfloor where damaged. Do I need a water damage specialist, plumbing contractor, wood floor contractor? I have no idea, but can't handle too many different contractors....

What is the per square foot cost for new residential construction in NE Florida? I want to build a simple 2000 sq ft bungalow in St Augustine Florida. By simple, I mean real simple and I would do all of the finishing including all fixtures, flooring, painting, etc. All I need it a slab, frame and roof and wiring and plumbing. Contractors quote me between $175-$225. sq ft. Does it really cost $350,000 for a slab, four walls and a roof during this "recession"?
How do other contractors get repair and remodeling leads? I specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling and I'm always looking for more business. I'm hoping to partner with some of the local plumbing companies in order to generate more leads (esp. bath remodels). Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I've tried print advertising but all I get is telemarketer calls.
I need help with recourse due to bad plumbing in Jacksonville Florida? Purchased a rehab house in Jacksonville Florida. Plumbing to sewer was bad. Pipe is dislodged, sewer empties into sand. All of the plumbing to the house built in 1914, was re-plumbed. The problem lays on my side of the sidewalk, not city"s responsibility. Plumber that pulled permit is out of business. He was hired by a general contractor that is still in business. Do I have any recourse, before I pay a plumber a small fortune to fix it?
How can I undo plumbing glued with ABS cement? The contractor made a mistake installing my tub and I need to take some of the plumbing apart. It was glued with Harvey's ABS cement A-6. Is there a solvent I can use to dissolve this glue??
My plumber left a huge hole in my kitchen, what do I do? I recently purchased a home and hired a plumbing contractor to come and connect the pipes under my kitchen sink. He said that he would have to re-route the kitchen plumbing to a different plumbing "stack" in the basement. The problem is that in doing so, he completely ripped out the wall behind the kitchen cabinets in order to install the new pipes. Now I have nice new pipes and a huge hole in my kitchen wall. Should I request that they fix it or do I need to hire someone else to repair my wall? And what type of company would I call to fix this? I only have two weeks left before my new occupancy inspection... please HELP.
Does working an apprentice plumber count as working experience? Heating Contractor Problem - Badly Sized Boiler? I worked with a plumbing contractor to put a new steam boiler in my house. As I know, steam boilers need to be sized correctly I verbally verified the sizing with him. Unfortunately, on the install date I could not be home because I just started a new job. He installed a boiler far bigger than I discussed. As well, the boiler documentation states that the boiler will not be warrantied if mis-sized. However, the contract did not state the size. I have withheld payment but the contractor is threatening a lien. Am I screwed?
What problems could arise with the plumbing/water in the new house? It is a house out of foreclosure and I'm buying it with cash. I've inspected everything by what my uncle told me to do (contractor and former structural inspector). Also took pics etc.. But, no one has lived in the house since May. There is no sign of water damage, water tank looks new.. but it does need new piping (cheap). What else could arise that I need to look into? Septic problems and how to check etc? The house is currently winterized.
had new toilet fitted and it overflowed and flooded my basement? I had new toilet system fitted and while I was out for the day it overflowed and flooded my basement. The engineers report says that "the toilet was blocked and the internal overflow flooded basement. I have had to reset defective overflow unit". Apparently the soil pipe outside bathroom was blocked and this caused the toilet to overflow over the pan. I am trying to get the plumbing contractor to accept responsibility but he is saying I should go back to my landlord. He is saying that the soil pipe was blocked (not newly put in) and that overflowed back into toilet. What do you think?
How to arrive at exact costing of units constructed? How to arrive at exact costing of units constructed? E.g. apart from the actual materials issued per building, per floor, per unit; how to load other costs like cost of the land, common roads within the premises, elevators, garden and labour costs including civil / electrical / plumbing contractor charges etc.
Anybody on this site know what a journeyman plumbing contractor does to earn a living? I know that Obama doesn't. Things are different working in the trades. You get dirty and you gotta be ready to get out and find your own jobs everyday. You gotta pay for a lot of things after the homeowner or general contractor pays you. Inspectors need the liscence, not the fellow doing the work. Journeyman electricians, plumbers etc. usually serve an apprenticeship to learn the trade. It just doesn't work like peole with a cpa certificate. it is another world that college kids have no idea. Somebody has to do it.
Contractors help me out here? My husband and I have a bought a large old full 2 story house. It needs to be gutted and mostly redone. We plan to renovate the main floor first so that we can move in by Oct 1st and finish the basement and upper floor as we live there. This house needs new roof, new plumbing, new elecric, it is having some walls knocked down and replaced with beams, needs the walls insulated, new walls put up, change windows, it also has no kitchen and no bathrrom. Plus it needs all the lath and plaster knocked out. We can do any of these things ourselves but need to hire out alot of the work to have it done in time. What things should we do and which should we hire out to save the most money? It is 90 yrs old, w 9 yr old basement. It has bathrooms but are in such bad sha[pe have to be completely redone, no plumbing to them either so they are being moved elseware in the home. I dont know where the heck the kitchen was or why there isn't one anymore but there is none. The house was moved onto this new basement 9 yrs ago and left this way since. It will be valuable once done. We have renters for our house for Oct 1st, we need the rent coming in to afford to do this one!
So me and my golfing buddy were sitting around enjoying the pleasures of a doobie and got to talking about our country. We're both in our mid-fifties, work every day and pay our taxes. I posed this hypothetical question to him, I have a pocket-full of money, how much do you need in order to retire tomorrow? He is a hard core fiscal conservative, is paying a mortgage and has a wife and a kid. He told me one point three million. He's fifty-four and has been a plumbing contractor for twenty five years. That's to be comfortable in his mind, one point three million to last the next thirty years. Why does a hearing aid cost thousands of dollars? Well pancakes, wrong you are. As a business owner he hates taxes and the way our government has its hand in everything. He's totally against abortion and welfare of any sort, especially corporate. He's also for "winning" in Iraq. You see, we smoke and play golf together and don't let our political opinions get in the way of our friendship. Lighten up OK?
